I turned in a paper from a roll of thermal paper like this a long time ago, and ended up at the end of the roll. The teacher pulled the report I had turned in out of the binder in front of the entire class , and every page ended up rolling into a ball.

I had a thermal printer once and it fades over time instead of ink last a lot longer I wish they would work on that technology

you can tell from the example page that he printed that the page rolls up into a little ball because it was from a paper on a roll. The closer you get to the end of the role the more it's going to roll up like that.
