@mollysringlets: my straight hair routine! just kidding 🤣 I created this reel because my last finger rolling reel went viral (4 million views eek) and quite a few people commented that my curls were either straight, wavy, or fake ✨ finger rolling only enhances the curls you already have, it doesn’t force them and definitely doesn’t work on straight hair (though you can try if you’d like 🤣🤣) ✨ “your hair is wavy” “at least I don’t have to force my curls” “your hair is straight” 😪 if the curl holds, then your hair is curly ‼️ anyway!! here’s my six step explanation on how to finger roll for ringlet curls (the technique I used in this reel)👇 🫧 step one: make sure your hair is fully wet, not damp! if you try this technique on damp hair your hair will be less smooth and will be harder to roll around your fingers (and you’ll just get so much more frizz) 🫧 step two: if your hair needs the moisture, add a curl cream or leave-in before finger rolling. this will also make your hair smoother and therefore, easier to style - my favourite is the @imbuecurls conditioning spray! make sure you brush this through your hair 🫧 step three: use your index and middle finger, guiding your fingers down the strand. then wrap your index finger beneath the hair strand and roll up to your roots (the video demo is much easier to understand - it’s very difficult to describe!) (an explanation of the roll: if you’re right handed like me, put the hair strand between your index and middle finger on your right hand and pull it until there’s slight tension. then place your left index finger behind the hair strand, closer to your face, and then use your right middle finger to wrap the hair strand in over itself and to begin the roll) 🫧 step four: release your fingers gently from the curl clump, and then if you want more volume, scrunch the excess water from the clump afterward 💦 🫧 step five: for extra hold, you can scrunch a gel of your choosing into the curl clumps. this will help provide long-lasting definition 🫶🏼 the gel I love for this is the @umbertogiannini curl jelly 🫧 step six: diffuse your hair until it’s completely dry! ##curlyhair##curlyhairtips##3acurls##curlygirl##curlyhairroutine##curls##curly##washday##curlyhaircare##wavyhair##curlyhairhack##curlyhairtutorial
