@flourishderm: Have you noticed as you get older that you’ve been getting more “moles” on your face and neck? Have you seen celebrities with similar spots appearing as they got older? Want to know what they are??👀 Well let’s discuss!! ⭐️Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra (aka DPNs, aka “flesh moles” -> common, benign skin growths that often appear on the face and neck ⭐️Cause: Thought to be due to a combination of genetics and sun exposure ⭐️Who gets them: Anyone, but are more common in people of African and Latin Ancestry ⭐️When do they appear: Often start in the 20’s and continue to appear as we “age gracefully” (aka Signs of Wisdom) ⭐️Should you be worried: NOPE, they are completely harmless and don’t transform into cancer ⭐️Can I stop or prevent them: NOPE, they WILL keep coming (because they’re in the genes!) ⭐️Are there treatments: ABSOLUTELY! Removal with electrodessication or snip removal Treatment with liquid nitrogen cyrotherapy ⭐️Final recommendations: They don’t have to be removed at all because they are completely harmless!! But if you do want them gone, we recommend having them treated once per year to stay ahead of the game!! #flourishdermatology #moleremoval #dpneducation #signsofwisdom #inthegenes #cosmeticdermatology #agingwithgrace #NewOrleans #electrodessication #aestheticdermatology #Louisiana #Nola #blackdermatologist #agingbackwards #dpnremoval
