@kirstyhendey: I've competed in HYROX Solo Pro, Open, Double's & qualified for World Championships so here are a few tips l've given to my clients who are competing this weekend.. 1. The HYROX running course typically includes several tight corners, which can be used to your advantage. As you approach a corner, slow down slightly and take a tight line to maintain your momentum. Then, as you exit the corner, use the momentum to propel yourself forward and gain speed. This will help you maintain a consistent pace and make the most of the course. 2. I find that by pacing the burpees by performing big jumps, I can keep my heart rate low and complete them without stopping. 3. Avoid penalties and running additional laps by transferring a hair band from one wrist to the other when performing your run laps. 4. Avoid going out too hard in the beginning and increase your speed once station 4 js complete. The first 4 stations are the toughest in my opinion and then the race gets easier. 5. Remove slack in the rope and use 'squat and pull technique'. Focus on utilise the full space within the box but be careful to not step outside. 6. Wall Balls are the last station so push through the pain and complete one large set of 40 reps then smaller sets thereafter. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!
