Painting is supposed to be seen as fair wear and tear which is the owners responsibility, not the tenant. Take it to the rental tribunal coz they are taking you for a fat ride.

Also recently had a similar experience with an agency in Durbanville...we ended up getting a lawyer to send them a letter just because they were going against our contract & the law.

🫤my in-laws were like this with their tenants.Even if they repainted and got the carpets professionally cleaned they always say the place needs a paint etc.etc. and then keep the deposit.

Shame! That sucks! It is a known fact that you should never clean too deeply or worry about paint as the agents ALWAYS force you to pay to have it done “professionally” 😒

Oh I have a similar instance with an agency in the north that starts with an H. I used professionals and they still complained. I still didn't get my full deposit

Also lived in Durbanville and we also had a very rude agent. She would even run her finger through the cupboards we have cleaned the day before, and said we must clean it again.
