@coffeecozycorner: Homemade brown sugar rosemary syrup My rosemary plant has been growing like crazyyy - so I clipped a ton and was thinking of ways to use it. I recently had a latte with rosemary in it, so figured I’d make a syrup from it. This one is a little step up from your everyday simple syrup - I also find you can use a little less sugar with brown sugar versus white This is a doubled recipe - but typically sugar & water will be 1:1 • pick some rosemary from your garden if you have or grab from the store • add 2 cups of water to a pot or saucepan - using the @From Our Place pan here & 1.5 cups of brown sugar & stir until it starts to dissolve • add in 1/2 tbsp of vanilla & 1/2 tsp of salt and stir • add in some orange peels & a few sprigs of rosemary - you can add more for a stronger flavor • cook on med-high heat until it comes to a low boil •allow to boil for 1-2 minutes and then turn off the heat and let it simmer • remove from heat (but keep everything in the pan) & let it steep at room temp for 30-60 minutes • use a strainer to catch the bigger pieces & strain into a jar This will keep for about a month in the fridge #homemade #syrup #rosemary #homemadefood #syrup #cooking
