you should have said there are 3 types of flares, single, double and bubble. bubble flare uses the piece that pushes inside, single just uses the cone to flare like you did

Just a little trick, if you use the die, flip it upside down, it's used as a height gauge to set it.

I have found if you spray a little wd or pb on the flaring tool it lessens the chance of the line cracking.
