The call was correct because you can’t block the base path regardless. Because the ball beat the runner all that was needed was a tag. Instead it’s an E6.

The throw drew her towards the base path then she had the ball which means no obstruction. the only reason Ella Parker would not have been out is bc she dropped the ball. They also overturned the call

This was NOT supposed to be obstruction, the ball was in her glove and if a fielder is making a play the runner has to go around the play or slide.

no obstruction.. gotta be able to get betweek the runner and the base to make the tag... she is safe, however, cuz the fielder dropped the ball after the tag. the obstruction rule is STUPID!!!!!

Obstruction is bcs you CANNOT BE IN THE BASE LINE WHERE THE RUNNERS RUN for this exact reason. Trying to get an out you should be straddling the bag not guarding infront of it

These obstruction calls are getting out of hand!!! The base that the runner is going to. And the ball are going to the same location. So does just the runner have the right to be there??

Isn’t this an obstruction because the baserunner wasn’t allowed a clear path to the base? You can see second baseman stands in front of the bag. The runner tries the base but is denied a path by 2nd.

It’s only obstruction if the. Fielder in the way isint making a play theirfor this was a fair play with a good hard slide causing the ball to pop out the glove

Looks like the throw took her off 2nd and more into the base path. I think it can’t be obstruction if the fielder is making a play on the ball.

this is what's called a bang bang play and obstruction shouldn't have been called cause both players reacted to the ball. if you stop the replay prior to the collision it's obvious.

If a runner is forced and you have the ball and go to tag them why is obstruction called they are trying to apply the tag how else are u supposed to apply a tag

Honestly, that second base is fault. I’m not an umpire, but as a softball player, it looks like she was in the way of the running line.
