Replying to @Hannah _ Ramzan 💕 being on your period is extremely challenging. The menstrual cycle is difficult on every woman’s body. Women thrive in calm not chaos, if you do not know what you’re planning to eat for the day your brain goes into overdrive and this is chaotic, meaning you are more likely to binge. being on your period can sometimes come with crippling pain and anxiety and also increases hunger levels. If you eat sociable tasty food while on your period you are less likely to binge and crave other foods. I personally buy the food that I’m wanting for that day the morning of the day so I am more kind to eat what I bought rather than read the cupboards for snacks. I also choose to have tasty meals that I know I am going to look forward to such as ready meals and oven pizzas. I cut my calories by having different sides such as cauliflower rice and carrot chips to make sure I can still have the food that I love and enjoy as a main meal. I also allow myself things like chocolate crisps and cake in moderation when I’m on my period to avoid binging when I’m feeling low. I also drink between one and a half litres and 2 L of water to make sure I am hydrated. Delaying eating till 12 o’clock while on your period means you can use your maintenance calories throughout the day between 12 and bedtime a lot more productively. Another thing I should know is that on my period for one or two days? I will eat at maintenance if I’m in a calorie deficit which is typically around 100 to 150 cal over my deficit. I also make sure I get my steps in as this actually helps with my cramps but I understand cramps can be different for everyone and if you cannot get your steps in do not feel guilty. #periods #healthyeating #womenshealth #periodcare #fyp
