I don't think you can boil an entire ethnicity down to 10 hyperbolic stereotypes, but this is pretty spot on. White people have some weird cultural norms 😅 Immersing yourself into a foreign culture can seem intimidating and daunting. Everything is unfamiliar. There's a language barrier (for me it was Tagalog/ilocano/Bisaya, etc.), the food is different (adidas was my first meal), customs are different (e.g. mano po), etc. Many times people let the uncomfortableness of that unfamiliarity stop them from enjoying another people's culture. I promise that once you give another culture your time and attention it's like transporting to a new world... literally! You've just increased the amount of experiences you can have in life. Every new meal eaten, every new friend made, every new experience had... it's more variety and variety is the spice of life! I'm very grateful to the universe that I've had the last 20 years to immerse myself in Filipino culture. It started with military service but continuied out of curiosity and appreciation.
