You probably know mate, but helmets, hard or soft, don't actually do much. The brain is injured when it moves inside the skull, a helmet doesn't prevent that

Rugby and AFL don’t use helmets since most common head injuries are concussions. Helmets do literally very little to prevent concussions anyway
