However a teachers work isn’t just time in school, let’s not forget when they reply to emails at 7pm or lesson planning at home! Wish people would stop being so judgemental! ❤️

Yes and remember that we pay three times the price to go on holiday, can’t take a day off in term time and can’t book adhoc leave.

But considering most teachers are paid atleast 30k+, 13 weeks unpaid leave isn’t half bad.

I think if most teachers spent the first ten years of their career in other sectors then became teachers they would never give up teaching and would stop complaining

Therefore, if a teacher earns £40k, as they are not paid for holidays, taking in to account stat & min holidays, they actually earn £46.6k pro-rata?

actually I'm a teacher and a cover supervisor. Teachers are paid for 52 weeks of the year, TAs and support staff get paid for 39 weeks over a period of 12 months.

I’ve come to the conclusion that people who don’t work in education will never believe us when we say we really don’t have it easy like they think! Would love to see them give it a go 😊

But doesn’t that mean your hourly rate increases with additional holiday. So doesn’t that dismiss the teacher pay argument. You can’t have both at the same time
