Instead of duck tape have you tried sports tape? Sticks to skin better and it's fabric so it's more cushion

at some point your gonna have to let it air and dry out, being stifled and sealed in plastic will slow healing and increase possibility of infection by keeping it to moist.

Try the liquid bandaid, that’s what I used when my foot split from dancing barefoot. All you do is close the wound and “glue it together”.
