I made SO many mistakes along the way. Initially, I wanted to focus on all the wonderful and beautiful moments that have marked my five-year journey of building Happy V. But I realized that entrepreneurship and building a business are often glamorized on social, with few people sharing the “bad” moments or so-called “failures.” Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had our fair share of wins and happy moments, but we’ve also faced countless challenges and obstacles that we’ve had to overcome to reach this five-year milestone. I’ve never really pulled back the curtain on these 5 pivotal moments that shaped @My Happy V — each one a rollercoaster of highs and lows: 👀 We initially planned to launch Happy V with a patented vaginal applicator, delaying our launch by nearly two years. Ultimately, we pivoted to supplements—a decision that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. 💳 Being 100% self-funded meant slower growth with limited budgets and smaller teams. For nearly three years we were a team of 3-4, wore multiple hats, and even asked team members to take pay cuts. This allowed us to build mindfully, focusing on what truly matters—our products. 🙃 Our CBD PMS tincture launch flopped. Despite the hype around CBD, unforeseen challenges forced us to discontinue it, teaching us the importance of not jumping on every wellness trend. ✨ Going viral on January 9, 2021, led to our top product selling out in 48 hours. While this may seem like a win, it left us unable to meet demand, resulting in dissatisfied customers and missed retention opportunities. 💗 As a vaginal health company, we face a lot of stigma discussing topics like BV and yeast infections. But these obstacles only strengthen our determination to keep pushing the conversation forward and breaking the stigma. If there’s one main takeaway is that it’s not all rainbows and butterfly’s. It’s not easy. And despite all these hurdles, every challenge has only made us better. We’re only getting stronger, and the lessons we’ve learned have been invaluable. Here’s to the whatever the future holds for Happy V 🤍 #happyv #femalefounder #startuplife #womenshealth #startup #womenownedbusiness #latinaownedbusiness #vagtok #supplementsforwomen #supplementsthatwork #howtostartabusiness #businesscontent
