@cbcmanitoba: A man was shot dead by police in the Manitoba town of Niverville early Wednesday, while another man sped off in a stolen vehicle, RCMP say. The shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the area of Drovers Run, a business strip that runs parallel to Highway 311 through the town, which is about 20 kilometres south of Winnipeg. A woman told CBC News police are focused on an area around a Shell gas station and Tim Hortons restaurant at the corner of Drovers Run and Krahn Road. A woman was taken into custody, while another man fled in a stolen vehicle, Manitoba RCMP said. They believe he is driving a green 2016 Subaru Crosstrek SUV with the Manitoba licence plate LJB 238. Burling is described as 5'2" and 190 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes. Manitoba RCMP were also at a second scene on Wednesday morning, just southeast of Niverville, at the corner of highways 59 and 305. A Winnipeg police cruiser was parked there with a portion of its front end smashed in and about a dozen bullet holes in its windshield.
