Free lunging is so beneficial. Many trainers are so against it

“She is working flying changes!” *horse cannot even carry herself* 😅 - love how you gently pick her up and give her freedom! Beautiful when you do

Your heart was in the right place. Always so sad for the horse though. So much progress for 1.5 weeks!

The progress and steps your taking with this horse make so much sense and show such clear improvement.

Work on the line or free lunging is such a helpful tool. I wish more people realized this. End of the day there will always be someone who says they..

Some people have no appreciation for doing things correctly or for the longevity of the horse.... Sorry you had to deal with that!!

I will never make horses for anyone but myself ever again. I am so sorry that the industry is like this. I’m scared for the horse…

I’m so sorry this happened. It’s so upsetting when something like this happens. Just know it’s definitely not a ‘you’ problem and definitely a ‘them’ problem.

I’m unsure how you guys do it in dressage since I’ve never really trained to compete in it but I work with QH now that are close to 10 and still perfecting a really nice flying change

Imagine being the expert and being told how to do it by a novice. I’ll never understand that in any profession.

Very sad. As a Friesian Mom my Friesian stallion started flying changes at 8 ! 3 is insanity ! especially on THAT Friesian.

I cannot imagine coming to another person's barn and getting a horse without sending them a message beforehand.

As a friesian owner myself I'm baffled by how delusional some people get with them. I've had clients bring their horses over to start them under saddle and the first thing I do is two weeks of lunging

Stupid question - are friesians known for an unbalanced canter? Asking bc my Friesian cross is a mess 😅

Can verify that groundwork can really make a young horse before you get on. Sad that the owner couldn’t see the great progress you were making.

I would be so grateful if a trainer made sure my horse was moving well before getting on their back!!

Horse training in this country is so backwards, it’s the same in all disciplines, you’re not alone!

So true! Horses that young should do the most basic stuff, like kids at school. It’s so harmful to push them too much and too young
