As a parent of a MX national level rider. another very common issue I’ve seen so many times are kids riding with absolutely junk helmets and neck braces

Former MX dad here. A 9yr old and a 17yr old should not be practicing or racing on the track at the same time for this exact reason. Prayers for both families.

17 is almost a "adult" but also most tracks under 18 parents sign the liability waiver one could blame the track for not forcing her off

Definitely fault in the 17yr old. They are old enough to understand directions when told to get off the track. Completely disregarding what they were told. Def 17yr olds fault. 💯

I grew up doing motocross my whole life. It's dangerous. I've been injured a lot been ran over during a race. It's not for soft people this sport.

Every sport is dangerous. Football these days is horrendous. They’re not teaching safe hits anymore. It’s all about safety and teaching them how to do things safely. Can’t keep your kids in a bubble.

there needs to be a basic safety course or basic set of safety rules enforced because parents aren’t teaching their kids the rules of riding anymore. Blowing through the pits, recklessly riding ect.

We go riding at Little Sahara Sand Dunes. There are SO MANY teenagers (drinking) riding. We always tell our kids they need to be extra careful because we do trust them, but we can't trust others.

I’ve never motocross so idk the etiquette or rules. But maybe the 17 yr old went alone so maybe the parents didn’t see it happening. But he is still a minor so it shouldn’t fall solely on him.

I can’t speak on this incident but as a daredevil child turned daredevil adult we can’t live in a bubble. As the adults we do need to take every precaution for the children. 😔💔
