Basic compression information hvac The basic principle of scroll compressor compression is the interaction between fixed scroll (stationary scroll) and orbiting scroll (moving scroll). Both these scrolls tangent identical to each other but differ in angle by 180 degrees. The orbit of the moving scroll will follow the path/path formed by the stationary scroll. Both are tangent based on centrifugal force. The compression chamber is formed from starting the outer part to the inner part where the volume of the compression chamber is getting smaller, as a result the pressure becomes rising and at the end of compression, the refrigerant comes out from the middle part of the second scroll. How it works: Low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous refrigerant (blue color) enters from the suction section into the compressor chamber. This refrigerant then comes into contact with the higher temperature compressor motor causing heat flow from the motor to the refrigerant. This refrigerant then enters the compressor intake to start the compression process. The refrigerant trapped in the scroll chamber is then compressed for later discharge from the central portion of the scroll. During the compression process, the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant gradually increases as the volume of the compression chamber gets smaller. This already pressurized and high temperature refrigerant (red color) then exits the compressor through the discharge pipe. In the discharge section there is a disc valve which serves to prevent back pressure from the discharge/condenser at the time of compressor switching off. The disc valve works like a one-way check valve/valve. Between the discharge and suction chambers there is a pressure relief valve which serves to dissipate the pressure from the discharge section to the suction section in case of excessive pressure. The lubricant at the bottom based on centrifugal force rises to the top to lubricate the moving parts through channels in the compressor shaft...
