As a tech we see it everyday. It doesn’t help that lippert now owns almost 85-90% of the items in the units now. There are only a couple companies that make frames and it has all gone down hill

JWRVREPAIR :
Lippert builds the frames to the manufacturer specifications. Heavier steel is not always the best choice.

Is that 1/8" rect tube!? I wouldn't use that for a class III receiver hitch nevermind a trailer A frame...

I might be wrong on TTs but weight ratings are based on axle rating, not frame? So like you said, frame should be over-engineered and in theory axle would fail before frame?

Why can't the NTHSA get all over RV manufacturers just like the automakers?

the eco movement caused this. they made them lighter and lighter for a wider variety of vehicles that could tow them. hyperlite, ultralite, any "lite" is gonna be made that way.

On a previous 5th wheel I owned I experienced 2 simultaneous frame failures. Failed welds and tearing steel. Unskilled workers combined with insufficient structure. Go team Lippert!

Also the A frame shouldn't be underslung, it should be cut/welded to the frame rails. it's a stronger connection and the trailer can sit 4-6" lower

I watched your video on RV quality I picked up a Aerolite by thor. and you mentioned Thors not the greatest . found cracked weld and gussets. is it okay to reweld and beef up with a cross bar?

I was just looking at my TT. The GVWR is 7725, but it only has 3500 lb axles, so they are counting on you having at least 725 on your hitch ( I know that’s easy, but still, I’d always over engineer)

I agree the should be stronger, but when you load it , the weight should be over the axle.

I am so tired of the quality of rvs dropping every year. They are not built well to begin with. I wish there was one that was built the way i would to last a lifetime
