@turtlehospital: #ThrowbackThursday to when we released Loggerhead Hatchlings into the Gulf Stream. 💙 They were rescued in the Florida Keys where they were found following man-made lighting that disoriented their natural instinct to follow the brightest direction. They are born with this instinct so they can follow nature's brightest light at night, the open horizon. This feature allows them to find the sea just after hatching from their nests even on the darkest of nights.
