Especially because people will adopt dogs because they’re cute puppy’s or because they are a beautiful breed, but they can’t handle their behavior and they end up back in the shelter or worse the 1/2

This is the best advice. I adopted a dog that has extreme anxiety and dog aggressive. I just don’t believe in returning a dog. I love him but if I fostered him, I would have never adopted him.

I don’t disagree in theory as long as you are not looking for a young, small dog, which will get adopted quickly so will not be available to foster

Yes! Also, rescues often need fosters for dogs that aren’t officially available for adoption - in these cases, fosters often get first choice of adoption

Agree to an extent but I lost my soul dog and 2 months later, same breed (hard to find) showed up at a shelter near me. I knew she sent him and I got him immediately. Love him so much ❤️
