same as massage, I guess. you problably can say "give a cafuné" or "do a cafuné", but in portuguese we only use "fazer um cafuné".

And cafuné came from Angola if I’m not mistaken, it comes from kimbundu “kifune”

cafuné it's an action, so you normally use the verb do before using it, but all the rest you are completely right

According to information I found on the etymology of the word, “cafuné” probably has its origins on African languages (either quimbundo or quicongo), but the meaning changed from its origins

You can have a cafuné done by someone... “Você quer um cafuné?” and “Eu amo fazer cafuné” are examples of sentences using the word 🫰🏻

After spending over 12 years abroad, the word cafuné is one that I can say that I really miss. Because, I love to give and to receive cafunés, but I can’t find a comparable word in English or Italian

I’m Brazilian, you’d use like “ah me da um cafuné?” It’s like “could you give me a cafuné?” And it doesn’t need to be a romantic setting! ☺️

Renato :
Cafuné is a specific act focused on the hair, often more delicate and subtle. Cuddling is broader, involving more of the body in a close embrace.
