@heavenlyhomeschool: Replying to @Katey Even if you’re in a state with relaxed homeschool laws, please read the fine print and check to see if you should still be keeping records, logs, or attendance. Some states don’t have any follow up according to their laws, but they still have a right to ask for these things if needed. Homeschooling gives us freedom but we are not 100% without accountability! #homeschoollaws #homeschooling #homeschool
What do I do if I was homeschooled in a state like this but my parents did nothing to educate me? I’m suffering for it right now. I can’t get my license to teach because I can’t pass 6 grade math….ext

I just keep records of where they are at. there's no real rules here in Idaho. as long as they can pass the tests to get their final equivalent degree

What about using an umbrella school? I'm in a low regulation state and I keep some work but I have been using an umbrella school to keep and send all of my records.

Virginia does require testing and my kids pass with flying colors. But if you don’t pass, in our state you can have an evaluator and they are normally much better to show progress for children who

New Jersey has the loosest laws. I just went to the school, signed my daughter out of 9th grade and never had any follow ups. I taught her at home for 9th and 10th.

MI no regulation. I keep a file box for each child with a folder for each year. I keep an outline of what we are doing and a selection of work.

One thousand percent yes. I homeschooled in New York, Texas, and now California and I’ve kept everything! Cause you never know when life will happen and you move etc.

AZ doesn’t test or ask you to show anything so I keep completed curriculums and write the date on every lesson we do. But with the ESA they do track that you’re purchasing in the subjects required.

FYI…If state testing is too stressful, you can get a waiver and they aren’t required to take them.
