Ibn Taymiyyah said: “And Allah Almighty has commanded in His Book to lower one’s gaze, and there are two types: 1- lowering one’s gaze to the private parts, 2- lowering one’s gaze to the object of desire. The first is like a man lowering his gaze to another person’s private parts. As for the second type of looking, like looking at the hidden adornment of a foreign woman, this is more severe. In the first place, alcohol is more severe than dead meat, blood, and pork, and the one who consumes it must be subject to punishment, because souls do not desire these forbidden things in the same way they desire alcohol.” 2- Turning a blind eye to people’s homes and what their doors are closed to. Ibn Taymiyyah said: “Just as it refers to turning a blind eye to the private parts of others and similar looking at forbidden things, it also includes turning a blind eye to people’s homes, for a man’s home covers his body just as his clothes cover it, and Allah Almighty mentioned lowering one’s gaze and guarding one’s chastity after the verse asking for permission, and that is because homes are a covering, like the clothes on the body.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi said in his interpretation: That is: Do not be so impressed that it forces you to occupy your mind with the desires of the world that the affluent have enjoyed and the ignorant have been deceived by, and be rich with what Allah has given you of the proven praises and the Great Qur’an. He also said: That is: Do not cast your eyes in admiration, and do not look repeatedly with approval at the conditions of this world and those who enjoy it, such as delicious food and drinks, luxurious clothes, ornate homes, and beautiful women, for all of that is the flower of the life of this world, with which the souls of the deceived rejoice, and the eyes of the averse are admired and enjoyed - regardless of the afterlife. - The unjust people, then it goes quickly and goes all the way and kills its lovers and lovers, and they regret it, since remorse is of no use, and they know what they will be in for when they come to the Resurrection.
