Honey arrived at the shelter on July 25th with her sister, Sunny, after their family could no longer care for them and surrendered them both. The first time I met them, they were completely terrified. They sat in the corner of their kennel, glued to each other, trembling nonstop. They had just lost everything they had ever known. A few days later, I walked by their kennel again to visit them… Only to find out Honey was alone… 💔 Sunny had been adopted, and Honey stayed behind. Please don’t misunderstand me. I am so, so grateful that Sunny found a family. Saving one life is always something to celebrate, and I’m incredibly thankful to the family who adopted her. In a perfect world, Honey and Sunny would have been adopted together. Actually, in a perfect world, they would have never ended up in a shelter in the first place. But the reality is very different… It’s hard enough to find one dog a home… finding a family willing to adopt two dogs together is even harder. Sadly, this happens all the time in shelters… I am very heartbroken for Honey because after losing her family, she has now lost the only thing she had left… her sister. In a loud shelter, surrounded by strangers, Sunny was the only thing that still felt familiar. Now Honey spends her days lying quietly on her bed… waiting for another day to go by. Honey is only 1½ years old. Her previous family said she is good with other dogs and good with kids. I really hope this video reaches the person who is meant to find her.
