UPDATE ‼️ hello everyone, Here’s an update on my dad. Sunday morning at around 3a.m. He was woken up & told he was getting transferred to the Adelanto ICE Detention Center. Him not being able to call anyone, our family would have never know if it wasn’t for the ice locator website that he was transferred. He wasn’t able to contact us until one of the other detainees allowed him to use their phone balance to let us know he had been transferred. Yesterday August 18 at 6:15p.m. our family was finally reunited & able to hug & talk to my dad face to face after an entire week. He had his grandchild back in his arms which brought him so much happiness & tears. We weren’t allowed to bring in anything with us & there was a time limit of one hour of visitation. He told us more of how he was detained the day of August 9: He was able to go into the Home Depot while the bounty hunters were chasing other workers in the parking lot. Though he came back out a couple minutes after looking for his backpack where he had his personal belongings and medication. That’s where one of the bounty hunters intercepted him & although he had the opportunity to run he didn’t. Being afraid of falling due to being completely blind from his right eye he chose not to run. he confirmed that they were “bounty hunters” because upon their arrival to the marine corps near dodger stadium they were arguing among themselves about how many each one had detained. Now in Adelanto, he says the conditions are a bit better compared to being in Santa Ana & DTLA. He has his own bed, was able to finally shower & brush his teeth after a week. He is receiving insulin although it is NOT the one prescribed to him from his doctor. His medication is not being given to him for his diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure. He has water to drink but says it’s not filtered & food isn’t the best. Through everything he’s been through, my dad is willing to fight to stay in this country that has been his home for the past 39 years. More years than he was ever in Mexico. Thank you for following my dads story & for leaving hopeful comments ❤️ This has been a tough process but our family remains hopeful that he WILL return home to his family and doggies who have noticed his absence. #fyp #koreatown #adelanto #ICE #gofundmehelp
