This is great advice! 10 years ago I unwittingly signed. Fortunately not paying my final wages broke the release I signed with them. It only took 1 email from a lawyer.

They asked me to sign something as a proof of receipt. If it happened again a lawyer said to say “you are free to sign it + note that I refused to sign this document”
