I'm so happy that now those who need it are able to get only one shoe. Not familiar with the policy,but I would guess that this is great also for those who need 2 shoes in different sizes.

I have CP and wear down one shoe faster than the other. Left shoe normally is ok when I have to chuck away because of the hole in the right shoe. I can't wear trainers anyway but this would be a good

Slightly different, my grandma has 2 different sized feet. One is a US1 and other is US3. She has to buy 2 pairs, paying twice as much to shoe her feet.
