Thank you for all the love in Savage Daughters Music video 🩸 Thank you for the 3 Million views and for connecting your heart and blood with this video that was an initiation as a woman for me. By the end of this creation, I was another person. I gave everything I am and felt in this music video. All my blood, my cries, my fury, my love, my heart and my hunger. After going through several traumatic experiences of abuse, which unfortunately many of us women have gone through, there are scenes in this video of screams and cries that I never did. There are other scenes that didn't make the final cut of the video that were the most cathartic moments of my life. Just me in the mud, with the dirt and my hair wet by how much I was going through. A connection with anger that I have rarely felt. This feeling that is so important, denied and forbidden for us women. Denied because we say it’s enough. Denied feeling because it places us as creators of a new world, of justice for everything that lives. I will never forget the image of an Iranian woman removing the veil from her hair, showing it to the wind while dancing on a bonfire made on the asphalt floor, smiling with her whole body, spinning around herself as if carrying the earth in her hands. She, this woman whose name I never met or even know, will forever be a reference of courage and freedom for me. If she can be free, even with the risk of losing her life for a simple act like dancing with her hair in the wind, so can I. It was just me, my partner, my family and friends who came to join us doing everything, creating, producing it, filming, editing, doing the costume, so it took me months to finish this is much more than a music video for me. It is a myth, a red thread, it is one of my cries and screams to the world. Thank you for connecting your bodies and hearts to this and for shouting with your voices for the freedom of all of us. I will never be free until we all are. I love and honor each one of you my savage creatures. With love and fury, Alexia Evellyn 🩸
