@travelwithadamandabi: This is William Herbert, 1st Earl of Pembroke who was the husband of Anne Parr. Yes, the same family name as Queen Katherine Parr as these two women were sisters. When Katherine married King Henry VIII, as with his other wives, the family rose too and her brother in law William Herbert was knighted and given Wilton Abbey and its lands as a gift in 1544. He rose even further during the reign of Edward VI and was made a knight of the garter and then Earl of Pembroke. All the official documents of which are on display in the home, the grant of land with Henry VIIIs official seal is included in this video. The Abbey which once stood was pulled down but a magnificent house was built in its place. The same family still live in it today. #fyp#trend#travel#travelcouple#explore#ukdaysout#history#historylover#salisbury#wiltshire##wiltonhouse#henryviii#edwardvi#catherineparr#katherineparr#tudortok#thetudors#tudorhistory
