People made me feel guilty for not centering my husband. I did a lot of things alone with my children. It made it very easy to leave the marriage with young children as well. No regrets.

I felt relief when you said the ages of your kids. They’re still kids so there’s so much time to make up for stuff! Some people don’t realize until their children are grown and no contact lol

Make up the time now. My husband was that way. So the kids and I did stuff without him. 3 years later he starts complaining he doesn’t feel part of the family. I said you’re not. But you chose that.

Granted, my father was abusive, but my mother continues to center him to this day. I resent her so much. I will never do that to my son(and also why I left my ex). Children come first. Always.

My dad worked every single day all day and still did EVERYTHING with me and my mom that was any second he wasn’t working. He had no free time- it was us time, and I’m forever grateful for that.
