@lucy.thinks.aloud: the most frustrating part is that experience has taught me that in moments like this as a trans woman defending myself would put me in more danger since i cant really count on other gay men to side with me or protect me. And even just expressing my anger is complicated because as trendy as it is “femminine rage” is only really afforded free of stigma to cis yt women. Trans women have to be cognisent that cis ppl will feel more uncomfortable by our emotional response than by the agression that triggered it. I left pride both greatful for the experience shared with the wonderful ppl i went with but also with a deep sadness of realizing once again that the people who benefit the most from our supposed community have no real desire to be in community with us. Is more pride really what men like this need.. ?
