after 2 yrs, switching jobs gets you a raise that your own company can't give you.

This is so much more practical rather than job hopping every year. In my role it takes months to understand the organization and months complete a project. Thank you!

very sadly while good afvice, this only works if your job isn't miserable and eating at your mental health 🙃

Love this. After 6 months, I knew the role itself and team culture was not for me. Really at month 1 about the role but I stuck it out until I couldn’t.

I love this!!! For me, I'm adding a 5th 6 months for sabbatical. 6 months off for every 2 years worked 💚✨

I guess if you liked your job you could go this. I have left both my previous jobs after hitting one year. No room for growth and no pay increase. Even after trying to negotiate.

Excellent advice. I’ve beeen with the same company for 6 years getting new roles/promos about every 18 months since I don’t need the whole 1st 6 months to learn the business and company.

I have done this unknowingly. The last 4th sprint, its either they promote you or you leave: :) My longest was 3 years because they promoted me thrice. :)

I can see myself at a job 1.5 to 2 years max. After that I need to move on because by month 6 I learned the job and I’m bored

This is really great advice. I work as an admission advisor at a university and was just promoted in my 2nd year here. Would that mean I start the job search phase now? I want to move up in higher ed.
