@kendraworth: Discipline should start way earlier on than many parents realize and most experts say it should begin around when a baby starts to crawl. No matter how verbal your 1 YO old is, they understand a TON (as long as they’re typically developing) and are very capable of following directions and learning boundaries. My second daughter is much more spirited and prone to tantrums than my frist, but the same techniques have worked on both of them. My kids HAVE to follow our safety rules and there are consequences if they don’t. It’s a lot of fromtloading and hardwork at this age, but then life is so much easier and more fun as they get older because you can trust them to follow directions and stay safe 💗 #childdevelopment #discipline #parentingcoach #viral #xyzabc #baby #toddler #toddlertantrums #tantrum #toddlerlife #toddlertok #18months #babygirl #momtok #MomsofTikTok #gentleparenting #strictparents Wholesome mom content Parenting tips Babies and toddlers Baby hacks and tips

This is gentle parenting, people! Boundaries/consequences, but you still treat the new human with respect- but let’s be real that’s what ppl struggle with, which is sad.

Yes, love this. I do this with my toddler and sitting in her chair while she eats rather than walking around. Either she sits or were done eating.

THIS is gentle parenting. Natural consequences, multiple chances to learn, positive reinforcement for safe/desired behavior. Good job, Mama!

this is the part of gentle parenting many forget- being firm, natural consequences etc will make them feel safer than letting them do w/e they want❤️

I got horribly burned by a kettle because I was sitting on the counter as a toddler, within arms reach of an adult fully supervised.

Give the instructions in a way they can truly understand them holding boundaries will actually have purpose

YES! Discipline is helpful to kids, they need boundaries to thrive! I tell my 14mo old "you can be mad, that's fine" like a million times a day 🤣
