@mathvisualproofs: Spiral of Theodorus This is a short, animated visual proof demonstrating how to construct square roots of any positive integer using the Spiral of Theodorus. Perhaps, with time and motivation, my own curiousity might one day kick in.

Same strategy as described but this time side≠1 but side=5. The 7th segment will be sqr 200.

Okay, but you're only doing half of it, both of those initial lines need to spiral out, not just one of them

I would probably just construct the first triangle with each leg length 10 since that would give hypotenuse length of root 200. I like this though.

ah, but what if over time you replaced each individual triangle? would it still be the spiral if Theodorus?

Definitely could make this by hand, just with a ruler, on substances to keep my hand still and of course with a protractor

Draw a right triangle with sides 14 and 2. The hypothenuse will be sqr 200. Also works with both sides 10. Or sides sqr 99 and sqr 101. But then you need to make quite a big spiral. 😂

Can you make a video where you square x then it becomes the height of a rectangle multipled by cans it repeats but also do one with y squared becomes height multiplied by y and it equals nothing 🤣

nice visual. there is an easier way to construct square root of n using arc of a circle

that makes sense because of Pythagoras' theorem. the hypotenuse is always plus 1 from the previous.
