@angelinamaria_04: I feel fasting from social media at the same time is very beneficial, the point is that we are denying ourself, so if we’re not eating but scrolling all day it almost defeats the purpose.. We also have to make sure our attitude is right so we aren’t like the people described in Isaiah 58:4-6 “Your kind of fasting is pointless, for it only leads to bitter quarrels, contentious backbiting, and vicious fighting” Fasting is a time of self denial and a way to experience deeper intimacy with God There is a special closeness between us and our creator when we temporarily turn our focus off of what our flesh desires and rather steadfastly dedicate our time to prayer There is also a special power that comes with fasting that we can’t experience otherwise.
