It’s the same in the US. My grandma and dad use the same brand of tea, but it tastes different. I always assumed it’s because they have different water.

so long science explanation made short. it's the weather, humidity, temp, cook time, and the leaves. any small changes makes a different flavor. bread science might help

Tea can taste different based on what temperature water is used to steep it? That’s my thought. 😋

Different water and brewing times, maybe? The tea I make at home with well water tastes a lot diff than the tea at my friend's with tapwater

Amount of tea leaves used, temp of water, steep time, how much water is used, minerals in the water, and even the method used to steep the leaves. It’s the same for southern sweet tea. Everyone’s tastes different even if we use the same brand.

I mean, it’s like the US south and sweet tea - almost every household makes it, but it always tastes different due to how they make it.

Some explanation may be different water quality, steep times, brand, ingredients and age

It’s the container. The pitcher they used is seasoned like a skillet

Different water quality like how filtered it is and steeping time plus temp plays into it, sweeteners and how much or what kind. It’s kinda interesting and weird

I think its the same principle of why the same recipe can taste vastly different household to household.

I brew tea too, but I run out too fast, either of sugar or tea, and I'll blend a bunch of teas together to get the flavor I want, I just need a bigger container to brew in

I need to know what brand barley tea, I know the whole point of this video is that they're all different but my host mom had some tea in her fridge and it was so refreshing 😅

Depends on how long you boiled it before and after you added the tea how long the tea stayed in it and if you added anything after and people just have preferences so every tea is different

uncle iroh put me on tea super early on, still drink alcohol but soda intake cut from 100% of the time to barely 15% of the time might have a coke 1 or twice a month....when I run out of tea

I also think with barley tea in particular it depends on the batch. since it's roasted barley it can be a bit different time to time even if it's the same brand

if it's the same brand of tea, is the water the same? that'll change the taste too
