@fossilfreelondon: Today the voices of 13,000 individuals from Nigeria’s Bille and Ogale communities against Shell were heard at London’s Royal Courts of Justice. Shell believes they have “no legal responsibility” whatsoever for any of the pollution - even though because of their actions in the Niger Delta, the average life expectancy is now 10 years less than the rest of Nigeria. This hearing will set a precedent for a wider movement towards holding THE POLLUTER responsible for the devastation they cause, by not allowing them to just sell off assets and walk away from their mess for someone else to clean up. 🪧 On the 12th June from 7.30am there will be a demo outside the Royal Courts of Justice.
