nurses told this to my mom when my grandma was dying so she agreed to not give fluids. my grandma kept saying she was so thirsty and begging for water for 3 days before she died. looked like torture.

If your loved one is still asking for food and drink, is it ok for them to still have it?

I get what you’re saying. I did meet with a medium after my mom passed and she commented my mom said she was really thirsty. She hadn’t been able to drink anything for four days. This broke my heart.

My mom had no IV but she did have oxygen by nasal cannula. The hospice md said that was having her hold on. We removed it and she passed peacefully 30 minutes later.

Yes! My aunts wanted to force my grandmother to eat and drink! She no longer craved it. We had to fight them off because they would try to do it behind our backs

I learned this years ago as a new nurse. It was a wise family Dr, that said to leave them be. If they wanted food, ok, if not, ok too. Very peaceful deaths with little pain. So peaceful

My mom was hooked up to a feeding tube but they had to cycle it out. I told my dad it was passed the time to let her go.
