Yeeeah... You should read "One hundred years of solitude" by Gabriel García Márquez, this event it's actually kinda the lore of that book... Also this goes from way bf 1997...more specifically 1928 😶

Highly recommend "Banana Land" doc on you tube. Also search "Banana Wars" and "Octopus" of Central America. Some great books on the subject I'd love for you and Mrs P to cover on your podcast!
