@10newsfirst: NRL star Jarryd Hayne has walked free from a correctional facility in Sydney's west after more than a year behind bars, following his sexual assault convictions being overturned on appeal yesterday. The 36-year-old was convicted in May last year relating to an incident on the night of the 2018 NRL Grand Final in a Newcastle home. The verdict, which came in the third trial over the allegations, was quashed due to a judge's mistake to not allow the complainant to be cross-examined during proceedings.
