@ellieboatman: I’m not sure how some Irish kids can produce this tune but it goes perfectly with a speed video 😅 I was always a sprinter and ‘fast’ as a kid but in the last few years I’ve noticed an increase in my speed shown by GPS data as well from training as shown in the video ⬆️ ⚡️Strength and power in the gym - not being afraid to lift heavy weights and rugby specific gym exercises instead of just bodybuilding ⚡️Plyos and ankle stiffness - another form of power, making sure we do plenty of jumps and plyometric exercises to make us more powerful athletes transferring across to speed. ⚡️Speed drills - working on technique and shapes to help with technique at top end speed ⚡️Sprinting 1-2 x a week near max speed to condition the hamstrings. This includes curved, linear and change of direction sprinting.. we never just run in a straight line in rugby! ⚡️Wearing GPS every time I train to monitor high speed metres and max speed, it’s also a good tool to monitor progress over time although not to be obsessed over. #speed #sprint #Running #rugby #Fitness #professionalathlete #training #gym #womensrugby #olympics #teamgb
