Magnificent Muscles! Just look at those movements! 🐊 This is our handsome turtle-eating gator, the one I introduced you to the other week. And this is a perfect example of how some meals are anything but easy. The turtle was just massive and far too large to swallow whole, which meant this gator had some serious work if he wanted to eat. The crushing, repositioning, and thrashing went on and on. And on. 😬 This wasn’t a quick snack. It was a full-body workout. Then another gator showed up hoping to steal the meal, forcing our guy to take off with his hard-earned meal. I figured that was the last I’d see of him. Some 45-ish minutes later, on my way out of the park, he reappeared with the turtle still in his mouth! Still crunching away! Eventually, we got to this point. When our gator was finally finished, it was time to rest and digest. He slowly sunk down to the ground and became perfectly still. Someone walking by might think, “Those gators sure are lazy. All they do is lie around basking.” But what they’re really seeing is recovery after an insane amount of work. 💪 Sweetwater Wetlands Park, FL #alligator #predator #wildlife #nature
