The reason why the pump says turn you car off is because people forget they're pumping and drive off with the handle

Nascar and F1 says otherwise lol. If that was the case, theyd turn the cars off when they fill the gas before they took off. But considering they dont and never have (I'd say that's an old wives tale made up to scare people)
