Considering that military vehicles only make up .0014% of U.S. vehicles, them being required to have potential emissions related break downs is nonsensical. A breakdown could cost soldiers lives.

hasn't it been proven you can tune these new engines to burn clean with out an egr and def/dpf? even when under load, while still maintaining fuel economy under low engine load conditions?

not sure if you've seen it yet but fass has developed a egr filter. it's actually a very neat idea. it makes it so no soot goes through the intake but the clean gasses do.

6.2 GM diesels were equipped with EGR in the 80’s, it’s nothing new. A lot of the problem is people buying HD trucks and then using them as grocery getters instead of what they were designed for

my shop uses diesel force to clean out exhaust and intake side. the stuff is very good. we don't use it as a PM measure like we should.

All municipal diesel trucks and equipment in Michigan still have to have emissions. Even emergency vehicles. They are switching over to gasoline engines to get away from it.

I can remember reading something Banks Diesel saying they can tune a engine to run cleaner be more powerful and higher mpg in the life of a deleted diesel engine compared to one with egr and dpf on it

When loaded heavy or in regen the EGR is closed. This truck likely spent time idling but it’s hard to say without the engine hours and knowledge if the truck was a fleet vehicle or not.

We just delete them anyway. Epa got stripped of its power a while back. Won a few times in court already. Now it’s just empty threats because they know they’ll lose again, a law that pssses and is unconstitutional is null. 🙃
