unless it's ryanair, and you then run the risk of having to put the trolley you paid to bring up with you, down in the hold because they have no space. happened once, it was shattered

Nah...I like my luggage up in my overhead compartment and secured that my seat is mine when overbooking happens...time is precious and I don't want another flight later on

I love that people queue when they’ve got a guaranteed seat. We always wait until there are only a few in the queue then we board

I do a lot of domestic flights with only backpacks. Wait for everyone to sit down and then if there are any empty rows then bam it's mine

I used to do that, until all my family’s hand luggage got taken off us and put in the hold due to no overhead space left.
