The a close friend handled similar situations was "this death saves lives, even if it's just my life. I'm ok with this". Those deaths haunt him to this day but he saved some lives.

Start and Jumpstart triage. One for Adults and one for kids. If they can walk they are “walking wounded” and aren’t a priority. Are they breathing? Are they breathing with a jaw thrust or head tilt
