While taking a break from social media due to the crazy situation in my homeland, with Hamas attacking, murdering and kidnapping innocent Israeli civilians, I did want to share this. 260 ppl that just wanted to unwind and have a good time at a party this weekend were murdered. Many more injured and kidnapped. This is a crazy reality to be living in. Hamas are not people you can find a solution with. These are ppl that are driven by extremely deep hate and will sacrifice their own lives to kill as many Israelis as possible. This brought back the memory of my own near death experience with Hamas. It happened in 1997. I was a student in high school. I just got off another school day. My school was right in the heart of Jerusalem’s main city center. I was walking through the Main Street where all the shops were, on my way to take the bus to bring me home. When I suddenly out of the blue decided to sidetrack into a small little side street to visit a record shop to listen to some music before going home. That little sidetrack saved my life. Once in the little alley, my world all of the sudden started shattering and moving, with the loudest most deafening “boom” sounds, the kind the leaves rings in your ears for days after, glass shattering from all over. And then…. Silence. A deadly kind of silence. I slowly walked back to the Main Street. And what unfolded in front of me while walking out of the small alleyway is a vision I will never forget. It was a crazy bloodbath with body parts mixed with rubble and glass all around me. And the silence…. I was standing there all alone surrounded by death and destruction. Right near the entrance to the alley was a human torso. It turned out later it was the body of one out of the three Hamas terrorists that committed suicide at the exact same time, exploding the bombs they carried on their bodies on that main Street, with the purpose of murdering as many innocent Israeli civilians as possible. Although throughout life I had a few close encounters with death, that was by far one of the closest ones. I pray for peace. I pray for a way for everybody to live their lives peacefully besides each other. #standwithisrael #prayforpeace
