@theholisticpsychologist: Emotionally explosive parents struggle to regulate their emotions. This causes them to be hyper-reactive. Their reactions are typically yelling or scolding With time, we learn to shut down. To people please so we don’t upset anyone or create conflict. We also live with the feeling of being a burden. Fearing that other people will react and treat us the same way our parent did. Can you relate? #childhoodtrauma #healingtiktok #selfhealers
It’s made me fear my own emotional responses, especially the last few years because one my nervous system gets to a certain point I become explosive and then filled with shame.

Someone once asked me. “Are you sure you’re doing ok? You seem off.” And I said I was fine which made them respond. “You’re always extra quiet when dealing with something. I thought I’d check in.”

Thanks to an explosive father. I now have to constantly monitor my own emotions so I dont act irrationally and sometimes I still slip up and get mad at someone who didn't deserve it
