It comes in waves. My pops passed 3 years ago. It never gets easier. You just kinda learn to deal with the waves.

grieving comes in many ways but since you ate together when you were young as a group. old memories will hit everytime.

Best advice: Ask for stories about them. other people will have that same experience as you did. not in the same way but similarly. Remembering helps, knowing where you came from good or bad helps.

It's the little things that trigger memories, it's when we are not even paying attention when it hurts the most

It’s small things that make those emotions hit. We never really get over it. We just grow around it. Cry when you need. It’s okay.

My pops died when I was 21. I’m 44 now. He’s now been away from my life for longer than he was in it. It’s weird. I still get sad and angry about it.

Smells and tastes will trigger feelings without memories associated. Usually these are from times before our brain fully developed

I’m the same exact way. But it also happens a lot with stuff that I’ve associated with him (ofc). Truthfully everything just went downhill after that and I haven’t even been able to deal with anything

It's been 17 years, and I'm still facing the repercussions to this minute. Grief is different for many people, but it still doesn't feel real most times. More than one person left the world that day.

Lost my mum 10 years ago and my dad 8 years ago and honestly it never really stops, it just gets minutely easier to deal with each day.

it always comes in waves for me, been 11 years since my dad passed, mainly little things that remind me of him. Best way i get past it is to honor him every so often and remembering the good

For me it helps just talking about it mostly to strangers or like newere friends because I don’t really know them yet and they don’t know me. So it is easier talking about that stuff😁
